The International Seminar on Soft Skills: Enhancing Student Development (ISOFT2015) will be held in Engineering Auditorium, Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Serdang, Selangor, Malaysia from October 7th - 8th, 2014. The ISOFT2015 is organized by Co-curriculum and Student Development Centre, UPM with the support of the Ministry of Education & Malaysian University Co-curriculum Council. This two-days event will feature recent findings from academic experts, researchers, practitioners and students in the form of exhibitions, lectures and posters.

This seminar also provides an excellent opportunity to exchange of ideas and encourage future collaboration between members of these groups. About 200 participants from all over the world are expected to attend the seminar to discuss the current issues related to related to soft skills for a better future. Papers presented will have an opportunity for published in scientific publications that will to be determined later.

 

Theme, Sub-Themes & Objectives

The theme for ISOFT2015 is ‘Revisiting Soft Skills: Enhancing Student Development’. 4 sub-themes covered, which are:

  1. Soft Skills in Education and Curriculum Development
  2. Assessment and Evaluation of Soft Skills
  3. Student Development and Identity Formation
  4. Soft Skills and Graduate Employability

 

 The seminar aims to:

  1. generate new ideas and perspectives through exchange of ideas and sharing of knowledge on soft skill elements
  2. gather feedback on the implementation of soft skill elements at university level
  3. produce holistic students and human capital of high calibre
  4. improve existing practices to enhance appreciation of soft skills at universities
